Antique Emerald Ring
What does a diamond stamp with a capital leter F inside it mean on a ring?
Today I was at a little antique store where I purchased a ring from an estate sale. The ring was very inexpensive considering it was stamped 925 which I know means it’s silver. I was wearing it later and noticed it has amazing reflective qualities I’ve never seen I costume jewlery, reds greens and blues. I’ve only seen stones like that engagement ring shopping! I took the ring off and noticed a tiiinny diamond stamp with the letter f in it… At first I thought maybe it meant the diamond was faux, but now I’m not so sure, I’ve found contradicting info online! I’m taking it to a jewlery store tomorrow, but I’d like to be prepared to either be excited or dissappinted! If I’m confused by it, I’m guessing there’s a chance whoever sold the shop lady the ring was confused too… It’s two oval stones on either side of an emerald cut stone. One of the ovals has a foggy inclusion looking spot by the edge of it and I know fakes generally don’t have flaws…
Well, it sounds like a makers mark to be honest.
I would say it is by a maker named Fessenden & Co. Providence. RI
